The Tarntawan Hotel Surawong Bangkok

Well located and comfortable stay, but lighting could be improved

Pros: The security guard at the entrance is exceptionally kind, welcoming and always ready to help with anything. The bed is very comfortable and there is a safe available in the room, which is appreciated. The hotel is very well located in Bangkok and the environment is quiet, allowing for good rest.

Cons: The room lacks sufficient lighting; all the lamps have a rather low intensity, which makes the space feel a bit dark.

Lovely mid range hotel for its value with super friendly staff

Pros: I had a wonderful stay at the Tarntawan hotel in Surawong. This mid range hotel is clean, has great A/C, good water pressure in the shower, and extremely friendly staff. The service is very good with a daily cleaning service if requested. I don’t use the bar, breakfast or restaurant services, so I cannot review these but from friends who stayed in the hotel at the same time I heard the breakfast service is very good. Its location is perfect to use the subway/metro system of Bangkok as well as the skytrain system. Stations for these services are within 5-7 minutes walking distance. There is a 7-elven literally on the corner (30 second walk) which is open 24/7. There are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, clubs and bars around and a night market two blocks down. I had a wonderful time here and it most certainly enhanced my visit to the lovely city of Bangkok. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, no questions asked.

Cons: The decor and rooms are somewhat outdated, but are functional and in good very good condition for the price range. The buttons on the control panel in the room were worn, the bathroom could use an upgrade, but nothing was broken or non functioning.

Nice, cosy, and convenient location.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Continental breakfast was basic which includes coffee and tea. We always went for the fixed breakfast menu that they offer so you can get fresh meals, such as poached eggs, French toast, pancakes or Asian breakfast (congee, noodle soup, fried rice). This was a perfect way to start your day. Breakfast starts from 6:30 am until 2pm which gives you plenty of time to sleep in. The security outside was always super helpful and kind, making sure your cab rides find their way in. Location is super, only 10 min walk from BTS, Metro and busstations. Walking distance is also stimulating with tons of food options, night markets, food stalls and malls. The hotel has its charm and for the price it’s very reasonable, both expectations and amenities they have to offer. If you value location, price and night life over fanciness, then this might be a good choice for you.

Cons: Quite dark lightning in the room that you can’t regulate. Bad sound proof, bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to sound. You can easily hear people walking in the hallway.

A well located hotel with comfortable beds and friendly staff, but digital tv isn’t available.

Pros: Very good location and rooms are cleaned regularly and have very comfortable beds. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Cons: It would be nice to have digital tv, which wasn’t available. A little more generosity with coffee and tea would be nice (only two coffee sachets are given and no tea bags).

Pros: The front desk staff, reception staff, and security guards were all very kind. . I stayed for 3 days and it was a very good stay. I would like to stay here again next time.

Wonderful

Pros: Excellent hotel in an excellent location , just walkable distance from Patpong night market , but hidden away and far from the noises

Cons: The hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool , which would have been great if there was one .

Pros: It’s in a very convenient neighborhood near the Chulalongkorn University and the night market, with massage shop, 7-11 and restaurants around. And the room is very quiet. The staff are very friendly and kind.

Pros: Nice rooms, good location, very good breakfast, friendly staff.

for my next stay in Bangkok I will choose the Tarntawan again; it felt like coming home

Pros: It was my third stay at the Tarntawan, that alone should speak for itself
