Papaya House Bangkok - Wat Arun

Pros: Everything was great! The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. The surroundings are wonderful and create a warm, relaxing atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. The location is perfect if you want to experience authentic Bangkok right next to the klong, offering a peaceful and charming vibe while still being close to many of the city’s highlights. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and genuine Bangkok experience.

Off the beaten pad

Pros: Alojamento num bairro tradicional junto ao canal. Fica perto de Wat Arun e apanhando o barco para travessia do rio Chao Phraya, a minutos a pé de Wat Pho e Grand Palace. Tem uma sala no rés do chão com máquina de lavar roupa, facilidade para chá, café, microondas para os hóspedes.

Cons: Nada a dizer

Excellent value and location

Pros: Great location and walkable to many sites and local restaurants. Near the canal and very quiet. The rooms were exceptionally clean. We would highly recommend the Papaya House.

A hidden Bangkok retreat

Pros: Although this was my first visit to Bangkok, I think this may be one of the best neighborhoods to stay in. The accommodation is located in a small, charming neighborhood with a local temple just steps away. There’s a great restaurant next door where I ate upon arrival, and it’s a quick walk to 7-Eleven, Annabell Café, Wat Arun, the water ferry, and so much more. I slept really well here and enjoyed coming back every evening after navigating through the busy streets of Bangkok. My stay was wonderful from start to finish, largely because of Alice. She was such a friendly and accommodating host. One of the best days of my trip was a walking tour of the neighborhood with her.

Pros: Clean, convenient, local vibes. While staying at the ice cream house (a few doors down) I walked by papaya house and decided to stay here for two nights. The building showcased the spacious community living areas both downstairs and upstairs very nicely. It was spacious, airy and very welcoming. Being directly next to the temple, you could hear the temple wind chimes blowing and the peaceful sounds of the monks prayers. The accommodation is also next to a restaurant that smelled very delicious, but unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to eat there. The room was equipped with a smart tv, refrigerator, small working space, hair dryer, and a large full length mirror. The bathroom was simple, yet spacious and good water pressure. The balcony was huge! There was a lovely place to sit and enjoy breakfast or a happy hour in the evening. Overall a very comfortable stay and I am so happy to have found it.
